Meet the Staff

John McNabola, Executive Director

Mr. McNabola is a graduate of Loyola University School of Business and holds a graduate degree in Marketing from DePaul University. As founder and president of several businesses, John has extensive experience in marketing, accounting and administration. As an adoptive parent, John is a strong advocate of adoption and is passionate in placing children into loving homes.

Michaelyn Sloan, International Coordinator

Michaelyn came to St. Mary's in 2004, bringing 25 years of adoption experience - professionally and personally with her. She coordinates the international adoption program and serves as Program Supervisor. Michaelyn helps provide adoption training and support for our families.

Michaelyn holds a M.S. Ed degree and is a trainer with the Illinois Department of Children Family Services. In addition, she was also the Illinois Recruiter and Master Trainer for the Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program.

Jamie Hammer, Administrative Director

Jamie has been with St. Mary's since 1992 working in administration. Jamie has extensive experience in personnel and office management, assisting in the agency's daily operations. She is the editor of St. Mary's Services quarterly newsletter, as well as involved in assisting with the Adoptive Parents Group. Jamie and her family are also presently licensed DCFS foster parents.

Cindy Anselmo, Clinical Supervisor

Cindy started working at St. Mary's in December of 2001 as a birthparent and adoption counselor. Prior to coming to St. Mary's, Cindy worked at Aurora Catholic Charities as an adoption/pregnancy counselor. Cindy has over five years of experience working in the field of adoption. She is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Direct Child Welfare Service Employee and has received 60 hours in Adoption/Guardianship Training by DCFS.

Cindy has a Master's Degree in Social Work and organizes St. Mary's Birthparent Support Group.

Jennifer Mangiaracina, Adoption/Maternity Counselor

Jennifer received her Master of Social Work Degree from Aurora University and her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Northeastern Illinois University. Jennifer has ten years of experience working in a residential treatment facility, as a foster care case worker, and has completed many home and adoption studies. She is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Direct Child Welfare Services Employee. Jennifer is excited about her position at St. Mary's and looks forward to working with maternity clients as well as adoptive families.

Kellie Kennedy, Director of Communications and Marketing

Kellie brings her non-profit communications experience to St. Mary’s Services to help raise awareness of the agency’s important work.

Prior to joining St. Mary’s Services, Kellie managed communications projects at Northwestern Memorial Hospital that addressed healthcare consumers and employees. She also spent approximately six years providing media and community relations counsel to clients at Hill and Knowlton Public Relations.

Kellie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Diane Riesen, Community Outreach Coordinator

Diane is a licensed social worker who holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. She comes to St. Mary's Services with more than 20 years of experience including work with birth and adoptive families as well as community outreach work for adoption agencies. She also has worked as a hospital social worker whose role included facilitating adoptions. Diane is active in local professional organizations and is enthusiastic about informing the larger community of the quality services that St. Mary's Services provides.
